About Us

Our founder a former Critical Care Paramedic with more than 30 years of service, experience and a passion for assisting people in their times of greatest need. He noticed in the last few years that ineffective expired medication devices became more of a risk within the community, and organisations requiring extensive risk management systems, and organisations resorting to having their own expensive medication devices on hand so they can protect their clients and staff members, when attending to calls for help.

This observation became a point of concern and occurred more frequently. A team of medical experts from the fields of emergency medicine, family medicine, pharmacy, and critical care with more than 60 years of experience collaborated together and created Emergency Medication Mx.

Unfortunately, even with all those years under our belts none of us can predict when an emergency will strike – from bee stings to food allergies, chest pains or severe bronchospasm. However, our experience tells us that one factor makes the single greatest impact on outcomes, and that is rapid access to definitive treatment and lifesaving medications either, self-administered or administered by someone else.

We understand that when it comes to emergency medications these are often out or sight and out or mind after the prescription and initial purchase. We are all human after all and unfortunately the replacement and checking of these vital medication devices become a process requiring time and moving parts to facilitate a replacement device. The medication replacement is often forgotten or a low priority.

This leads to expired medication often being the only available resource in a time of need. Concerningly this can result in failure to reverse fatal conditions such as anaphylaxis, severe asthma, hypoglycaemia and angina pectoris so many organisations have to put in place measures to combat this as it causes considerable risk to the organisation should a client or staff member need vital medication and it not be available / in date.

To combat this, we designed an application with help of the development team at Spritely Inc. Our system tracks the emergency medications you manage on their behalf, reminds you and your clients of expiring emergency medication, has a pathway for immediate replacement of used devices, and provides a seamless process for replacement through our pharmacy supply partner.
